The Borrower is servant to the lender

A Short on Debt 01

NLT: Just as the rich rule the poor, so the borrower is servant to the lender. Proverbs 22:7

It seems our lives are built on credit and borrowing.  For a home, cars, college, and credit cards.  This is not by accident. If you read the book, The Creature from Jekyll Island, you will see that our credit society was set up this way on purpose.  Our monetary system was set up to keep us in debt. The system is set up for us to pay the banks a percentage of our income all our lives.

Some interest rates are almost the same percentage as what God asked people to tithe in the Old Testament.  Some interest rates on credit cards are 20-36%. (36% charged by First Premier Bank and Mastercard) You would be giving to the banks 2 – 3 times what you give to your Father.

The bankers set this up for us to fork over part of the fruit of our labor all our lives.  We are to be their servants to make them rich.

Because of the debt many are in, it becomes difficult to save any money or even to tithe.

It ends up that much of what God prospers us back because of our giving, we end up paying the lenders instead of saving that money. But God’s Word says we are His sons and daughters, and we are to serve Him.

Learning about finances is all part of The Prosperous Life.
